Local famous Bongo flava artistes, Judith Wambura widely known as ’Lady Jaydee’, Rehema Chalamila ’Ray C’, Khalid Mohammed ’TID’, Noorah, Mwana FA, Mheshimiwa Temba, Fid Q and Joslin have joined hands in the war against HIV/AIDS through artistic compositions.

They are participating in a new album called ’Sikiliza’, which is the Kiswahili word for listen.

Twende Kazi Entertainment has once again teamed up with MJ Records to produce an exciting high-profile Bongo Flava compilation album.

According to a statement issued by KCI / Twende Kazi Entertainment of Dar es Salaam, the songs in the album will be used specifically to bring awareness on the effects of the killer disease.

”Project Sikiliza is a music-led HIV/AIDS awareness and behavioral change campaign aimed at the Tanzanian youth. It is specifically aimed at the youth for many reasons.

First and foremost, research clearly shows that young people aged 15-24 years are the hardest hit due to information deficiency and high-risk behavior, the statement noted.

Secondly, but not less important, it is a clearly established fact that music is youth’s favourite pastime entertainment.

The ”Project SIKILIZA” compilation album, which will contain 8 brand new, catchy tracks that vary in terms of style and feel, is set to be released on December 1st, 2006, which is World AIDS Day.

All tracks in the album have been produced by one of Tanzania’s most highly acclaimed producers, Master J of MJ Records in Dar es Salaam. The album’s executive producers are Danny Kiondo, CEO of KCI and Twende Kazi Entertainment and Steve B.

SIKILIZA” aims at informing and entertaining the Tanzanian youth by delivering some fundamental messages related to HIV and AIDS, through music.

This will undoubtedly prove to be a highly effective means of disseminating crucial and much needed information to the target audience.

As the name itself suggests, ”Project SIKILIZA,” invites young Tanzanians to lend an ear and ”listen” to some important messages related to HIV and AIDS, that will go a long way in helping them to better protect themselves and the nation at large against HIV infection.

Twende Kazi Entertainment and MJ Records previously worked hand in hand to produce and release ”PAMOJA Ndani ya Game,” which has undoubtedly proven to be the best-selling and most successful Bongo Flava compilation album of 2006.
Twende Kazi Entertainment is part of KIONDO COMMUNICATIONS INTERNATIONAL (KCI), a Tanzanian brand communication agency that is taking an innovative approach to brand communication.
